Its been a busy and traumatic time. My mother in law went in to hospital with pneumonia and then had a stroke, she was in a coma for a few days but is showing signs of moving and trying to talk now so it is starting to look popsitive.

In the meantime I have been enjoying my work at the Bath House and working with my daughter, it has worked well. The other daughter is joining us this Wednesday for a try out!

Website sales are picking up and I have had lots of commission enquiries and a few have followed through and ordered.

The charm pendant on the wesbite has raised a lot of interest, lots of enquiries about charms and also a few sales.

I am in the process of designing some earrings for a lady who wants them to match a necklace she has. Beautiful necklace by Daniele Geargeoura, tempting to just make the same in earrings but have come up with another idea which the customer loves. Will post image when finished.

I love these bangles and they are starting to get noticed, everybody comments on the one that I wear so they are getting centre stage at the markets that I am doing over the summer and hopefully I will be advertising them in a magazine soon!

Necklace with fantastic glass beads made by Emma@beadenvy.com ...... love the turquoise colour ........ this one is going to Obsidian Art in Stoke Mandeville so hopefully someone will give it a loving home!

I am making stock at the moment ready for the Summer Art Fairs .... I am at Old Nell's in Bilsborrow on Sunday 28th at the Lancashire Love It Fair and then I have a week at the Art Fair in Kendal from 13th - 19th July and then I am doing the Art in the Pen weekend in Skipton in August. Hopefully I will need lots of stock so I am busy making .............

Bought these rings from Lucas Jack, sterling silver, faceted glass in great colours .... peridot, amethyst, baltic and black .... they look great, chunky but no too big, have put them on my website.

Had a good week, got lots done, Tom's birthday tomorrow so we are going to the Inn at Wray for dinner tonight and hopefully off for a walk/picnic tomorrow if the weather is good ...............

In the process of making more new designs ..... I am designing and making some pendants which I wil put on bead necklaces rather than chains ....... just learning the intricacies of beading at the moment!

Have signed up to do The Art Market in the Westmoreland Shopping Centre in Kendal this July ..... a new one but hopefully a good place and time ..............

Love this ivory necklace .......... have received some great bead today from Emma at www.beadenvy.co.uk who is currently in Spain! Can't wait to make some pieces ..........

Half term ........ got bits done today and baked bread! even had an order for some earrings ........ girls have chilled enjoying the luxury of being at home all day .... lit an 'early' fire so its nice and cosy ..... hoping to go to Manchester this week, see the Bond film, go to Halloween party, might even go for a run!!!

wow .... new look website went live yesterday

love the new look and it was about time really, its been there for 4years so needed a face lift though I am slightly nervous as I loved the original site ............... slowly the site is filling up with my own designs of sterling silver jewellery...... not sure if it will end up being just my jewellery .... don't think though as there is some great sterling silver jewellery out there from other designers ...........

lots of other stuff going on .... Winter Exhibition coming up at Arteria Gallery 23 in Lancaster (if you want a ticket to the Preview email me) ............ Manchester christmas Market 18 - 24th November for me and Jo, we are sharing a stall .......

On call for First Responders again today so am home based and need to do phone calls etc .. tidy up, maybe bake!

Good week so far .......... left lots of sterling silver jewellery at 2 outlets, made more and sent off for hallmarking ...... will go see more outlets next week .......... things are going well, I hope people like the new range, have more ideas coming through so want to start on a new range soon .......... have removed jewellery cabinet from Barton Grange, they felt they weren't selling enough and want the space for other things ........ will have to find a replacement.

Thank goodness for Emma and her handmade glass beads, she has made some fantastic beads for me, its so nice to find someone this helpful with an equal passion for what she does! She has a great website www.beadenvy.co.uk so have a look at her beads and little critters!

I have made some great sterling silver jewellery designs with her beads and Emma loves it as well which is a great endorsement for me.

No running this week ....... having some time out from that but have been to the gym and hope to get my bike soon so will start on that ........ if the weather improves! rain rain rain ..........

I am on call today and twice next week for First Repsonders so that should make me get on with more silver jewellery, stocking up for Christmas sales!!!

Might even bake this week, haven't done it for a couple of weeks and actually bought some muffins which I never do!

Have taken stock of my silver jewellery ....... need to order more silver and get making so I am up to date for trade and retail sales and then there is no last minute panic in September ..... sales in The Artroom Gallery in Garstang are going well although that is always normal initially with a new outlet ... long may it continue. PAD gallery in Preston have moved premises to somewhere more central so I am going there on Friday to drop off some new pieces..... hopefully sales will pick up now they are in a more central position.

Done a couple of runs this week .... only small ones but its a start again ...... much prefer my new regime of gym/walking but the gym is closed for the summer so I will do a bit of running instead.

Girls finish school on Friday for the summer ..... Sports Day today, sponsored walk!! tomorrow ..... both of them are not looking forward to that ... 18 miles the day before term finishes .....

Had a good Father's Day yesterday, the girls bought some really good quirky presents from Gear in Kendal, its a fantastic shop, they always come up with something different for me when I need something. They also gave him a couple of linen shirts which were on offer at Boden ...... brilliant funky colours and designs ( I bougth those of course!) ............. and finished it off with a nice roast pork dinner ........ tonight they are cooking beefburgers for dinner for us all! Trying to get them more experienced in the kitchen!

Gosh where does the time go to ..... hadn't realised its been 5 days since I last blogged!

Spent Wednesday wandering round Preston whilst I had my car sorted out ........ had to leave it from 9am until 3pm ......... got my hair trimmed and had a good walk round streets I haven't been down for years ....... got back only to be told they hadn't done anything and could I come back again! Why didn't they phone me so that I could have gone back home and got some work done ........ I was very calm (could be the meditation influence!!) and re-booked for another time!

Thursday was my last Photoshop course for a while, I need to get some work done and prepare some images that I want to sort out and then sign up again for the course.

Friday I worked on the website with Roger ......... going to do a redesign and tweak it abit .... I guess it needs it after 4 years but I love the original design by www.madcan.com so I have been hesitant about changing it.

Saturday I made a cake for my neice who is going off to Australia for 3 months ........ we are having a farewell meal tonight ..... today I am going to chill a little and get soem jewellery ready for tomorrow as we are selling at Wray Fair.

Then its a whole new week .......... bursting with new designs so need to create ..............

Saturday's run round Wray was absolute murder .......... don't know why as I so used to doing 10 km with lots of hills but I felt terrible, like I had been drugged .......... but made it round and knocked off a minute from last years time! Had a few beers after to recover ..........

Had a nice day on Sunday, parents came over for dinner.

Spent Monday helping out at Wray Fair which was quiet as it rained!

Managed a run this morning! Did some oxidisation on some silver jewellery I have made .......... liked it so might get soem more done.

Tomorrow I am in Preston again getting my car sorted!

Saw a gallery yesterday Arteria in Lancaster and they will accept some of my sterling silver jewellery for their exhibition which is in October so that is a good one to have before Christmas. The girls went round town and did a bit of shopping ...... of course they did some studying in the morning ..........

Done my on line shop with Tesco ....... now I'm trying to sort out some engraving for a customer on a bangle which is proving difficult. I really wanted to sort this out as it is for a soldier serving in Iraq and he wants to get his fiancee a present for her birthday ... I will keep trying.

Done the Church newsletter for this week, it was relatively straightforward, not much news ..............

Working on some new designs ....... very early stages ..........

Went to the Spring Fair on Monday with a friend. Some great new jewellery designs were on show and we had a good day.

Spent today catching up on repairing a ring, modifying some earrings and making 2 sterling silver commissions.

Still looking in to changes on the website and waiting for advice and quotes!

Shocked about Grange Hill but I guess time moves on. I used to watch it when I was younger but haven't seen it for years ........

Going for a run tomorrow and then on to my course, Adobe Photoshop! Progressing nicely with my images and should have some canvasses to print soon ............

Had a good week. Closed the shop so I now just have the website to run and promote my wonderful sterling silver jewellery. Going to Spring Fair at Birningham tomorrow for a look see at what is going on ........ went for a run after Church today, had a 'family' drive out to deliver a letter and things and watched Wild at Heart with the girls ........... also watched Bourne Ultimatum ........ brilliant as usual ..............

Monday 8th July another week

Desperately trying to come up with a 'cool' design for displaying my jewellery in Manchester ........

Had a great weekend .............. Church Garden Party on Saturday, poured on and off all day but it was a good day. Bumped in to Nick (Woods of Morecambe) from the Chamber of Commerce Etrader Meetings and his wife and children, small world ....... Saturday night stayed fine and we went to a BBQ at our friends house near Lancaster which was great. Sunday Tom went off to climb Scafell Pike and I took the girls swimming to the outdoor pool, have to make the most of the gaps of good weather!

Have had no orders for the past few days from the website which is strange ........... I've checked everything is okay so don't know what has happened ............ maybe its just a quiet time ...... if anybody out there sees something weird let me know http://www.thejewelleryroom.co.uk/

Talking of jewellery again I haven't had my silver back from the hallmarking office yet! Need to polish it up and price it before Friday!

Saw a picture of the skull encrusted with jewels by Damien Hirst over the weekend ...... £50 million! It is amazing what people do make and more amazing what sells at those prices.

Anyway, must get on ....................

Interesting day, tried acid etching on sterling silver for the first time. Very random result, some of it worked and some of it didn't but enjoyed doing it.

Went for a run this morning (no rain!) and then went off to do the acid etching as we had no electricity for the day - some sort of repair/maintenance thing- it happens a few times a year. Jo Dix did the acid etching, very talented jewellery designer, she makes some amazing pieces.

Got the weekly shop done and out of the way as tomorrow its .............. go to work with a parent day!!!!! So my daughter Mia is coming with me to the shop, she thinks she is going to get some shopping done but I have a few jobs lined up for her.

Still haven't sorted my display table for Manchester Garden Market next Friday so need to crack on with that.

Trying to sort out a holiday in the summer, we are going to stay in the UK (carbon foot printing etc so no flight this year - did I mention I drive a Land Rover?) but have probably left it too late. Going to spend a hour or so surfing now to try and find something ...........
