Sunday 17 May 2009

"been a busy week, we became the first rural area to lay fibre to the home, so Lancashire leads the way in UKplc. We did a trial dig from one house to two more who had poor visibility due to trees, and we sent the wireless signal to them through the fibre.
I have put links to two of the videos on youtube, (sorry about the quality) but there are five in the series if you want to see them all, just click on 'more from this user' and youtube will list them. You can access the links from the village blogspot, http://wrayvillage.blogspot.com/

Computer club next Friday if anyone wants more info, just call in, 1.30 at Wray online centre or email anytime.

It is crucial that rural areas have access to next generation broadband, it means we can keep up with digital britain and also adds value to our children's futures, our businesses and our house prices! If we want to stay in the game we need to be looking at advanced wireless/fibre connections. If anyone has any contacts for ducting, manhole covers or any digging equipment please reply to this email, and please watch the vids if you get time, and feel free to forward this message to anyone who isn't on our mailing list.
Power to the people
